Support independent news and coverage of Hudson Prosecutor’s JCPD off-duty trial

For those who’ve followed and enjoyed the content I’ve published over the years, please consider making a donation to support my work.

Judge, lawyers and defendants from The State of New Jersey vs Joseph Ascolese, Kelly Chesler, and Michael O’Neill – plus Real Jersey City Publisher Michael Shurin (right).

You don’t have to like me, but one thing is certain – I’m not beholden to the political machines of Jersey City and Hudson County. No politician, prosecutor, or public official is controlling what I publish.

While it’s priceless that thousands of people have taken the time to read my investigations and reports published on Real Jersey City, holding public officials accountable takes time and resources.

The powerful institutions I’m challenging are financed by taxpayers, I’m merely one person working with borrowed time – which is why I’m asking for your support.

My goal is to publish wide-ranging stories over the next few weeks while covering a trial — The State of New Jersey vs Joseph Ascolese, Kelly Chesler and Michael O’Neill — which is the only case of alleged Jersey City police off-duty corruption being pursued by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office (despite numerous officers under investigation or convicted by federal authorities for various schemes related to the program).

Your generosity can make that goal a possibility, and that’s why I’m asking you to consider making a donation to help me publish real, independent news. If interested in making a contribution – please click here.

Sincerely,

Michael Shurin

Publisher of Real Jersey City
